12kW Off-Grid Inverter — Made in USA
The Indie 12 is a 12kW split-phase off-grid inverter designed, programmed, and manufactured in the United States, with no foreign entity control over the hardware, software, or supply chain.
We didn’t just put our name on someone else’s inverter. We own the intellectual property outright and have re-shored the entire manufacturing process to the United States. Every component we can source domestically, we do. Everything else comes from non-adversarial countries.
The result: an inverter free of backdoors, foreign influence, and hidden dependencies on supply chains we can’t trust.

FEOC Compliant
The Inflation Reduction Act and subsequent legislation created significant incentives for clean energy, but with a catch: equipment containing components from Foreign Entities of Concern (FEOC) like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea doesn’t qualify.
Most inverters on the market fail this test. The Indie 12 is designed from the ground up to pass it.
If your project requires FEOC-compliant equipment to qualify for federal incentives, the Indie 12 won’t disqualify you. Consult your tax professional for eligibility details.
What FEOC Compliance Means
The Tariff Treadmill
Tariffs on imported energy equipment change constantly. One day it’s 25%, the next it’s 50%, the next there’s an exemption that expires in six months. Distributors can’t quote prices. Installers can’t plan projects. Everyone loses.
We don’t have that problem. Our supply chain doesn’t depend on foreign components, so tariff changes don’t affect our pricing. When you get a quote for an Indie 12, that price is stable.
PRICE STABILITY
Domestic manufacturing means our costs don’t swing with every trade policy headline. Your project economics don’t change because of decisions made overseas. You can plan a project in January and execute it in July without renegotiating every contract.
Grid Security
In July 2024, the FBI issued an industry alert warning about threats to renewable energy systems. Security researchers have since documented dozens of vulnerabilities in popular inverter brands that could allow remote sabotage of the power grid.
Many inverters connect to cloud servers for monitoring and updates. That's convenient, but it also creates a remote access pathway. In 2025, security researchers found undocumented cellular radios in some inverters that could bypass firewalls entirely.
The concern isn't theoretical. Governments worldwide are now evaluating the risk of grid-connected devices that can be remotely disabled, and some countries have begun restricting which manufacturers can connect to critical infrastructure.
Cloud monitoring runs on servers located in the United States, under US jurisdiction. Your data stays domestic, inaccessible to foreign entities.
Every unit is inspected during manufacturing to ensure no unauthorized components (GPS trackers, cellular modems, or other backdoors) are present on the boards.
We own the source code. Updates happen when you choose, through channels you control. Cloud connectivity is optional, and there are zero foreign translation layers.
Cybersecurity threats evolve. A one-time audit isn't enough for equipment connected to the power grid. We're committed to quarterly engagement with CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) for independent vulnerability assessments.
This isn't a checkbox exercise. It's an ongoing process to ensure the Indie 12 remains secure as new threats emerge. For government and critical infrastructure applications, this level of scrutiny is essential.
Homesteads and off-grid properties where true energy independence matters. 12kW split-phase output runs your whole house. Dual MPPT inputs handle large solar arrays. No cloud dependency means it works when the internet doesn't.
Farms, warehouses, and small commercial operations that need reliable backup power and want to maximize tax incentives. FEOC compliance means your project qualifies for the full ITC. Up to 6 units parallel for 72kW systems.
Military installations, emergency services, and government facilities that can't risk foreign control over their power systems. Full supply chain documentation available for procurement officers. CISA-validated security.
