Manufacturing

Manufacturing

Made in Texas. No Import Surprises. No Supply Chain Gambling.

The past several years have been an education in supply chain risk. Companies that believed their low-cost imported supply chains were stable discovered that a tariff announcement, a pandemic, or a geopolitical event could close that supply chain overnight. Companies that had built domestic manufacturing capacity did not have that problem.

Pulsar Industries has manufactured in Texas since our founding, and we have no plans to change that. It is not the easiest decision from a cost standpoint. Domestic manufacturing requires more investment in tooling, process development, and labor than overseas alternatives. But it gives our customers something that overseas manufacturing cannot: certainty. Certainty that the price quoted will be the price charged. Certainty that production will not be disrupted by a policy decision made by a foreign government. Certainty that we know exactly where every component in the system came from and can prove it.

MANUFACTURING MODEL

The Pulsar Micro-Factory Model

Flexible, Localized Production

Our Texas facility is designed for flexibility. We run multiple product types on the same production floor, adapting to the mix of orders without extended retooling. This is possible because we design for manufacturability from the beginning — our engineering team is in the same building as the production team, which means products come out of engineering already designed to be built efficiently.

Localized production means more than address. It means our quality engineers are steps away from the assembly line. When an issue appears in production, it gets diagnosed and resolved in hours, not across multiple time zones over multiple days. It means we can accommodate customer-requested modifications without a lengthy change request process with an overseas factory. And it means customers can visit and see their products being manufactured, which matters to clients who are accountable for the provenance of what they sell.

Production System and Quality Control

Our production system is built around documented work instructions that specify every step of the assembly process in sufficient detail that any trained assembler produces the same result. We use digital work instructions to ensure consistency across shifts and assemblers. Incoming component inspection occurs at receiving for all critical components. In-process quality checks are performed at defined assembly stages. Every completed unit goes through a comprehensive end-of-line functional test that verifies every electrical and communication parameter before it leaves the facility.

Every unit we ship is accompanied by a production traceability record that identifies the specific components used in that unit and the results of every quality inspection and test performed during production. This documentation is available on request and is standard practice for clients who require it for regulatory or procurement purposes.

FEOC-Compliant Supply Chain

FEOC compliance — the requirement that energy equipment be manufactured without components from Foreign Entities of Concern, specifically China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea — is increasingly important for eligibility under Inflation Reduction Act incentive programs. Pulsar Industries has built our supply chain from the beginning with FEOC compliance as a design requirement, not as a retrofit. We source cells, BMS components, structural materials, and subassemblies from vetted domestic and non-adversarial international suppliers. We maintain full documentation of component origins, updated with each procurement cycle.

Tariff Stability

Import tariffs on energy equipment have been volatile. Products that were priced at a certain level in early 2023 saw cost increases of 25–50% or more within two years as tariff rates changed. Because our manufacturing is domestic and our supply chain is sourced to avoid tariff-exposed components, our pricing is not affected by these changes. A quote from Pulsar Industries is a stable quote — not one that is subject to revision because of a policy announcement overseas.

We provide structured technology roadmapping that connects your product’s long-term performance requirements to the trajectory of battery technology development. The goal is a product platform that remains competitive for the full planned product life — not one that will be obsolete in its second year because a better technology became available that was not considered at the design stage.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Question

What production volumes can you handle?

Our facility handles low-volume custom builds through mid-volume production runs. For programs requiring higher volumes, we can evaluate capacity expansion or partner manufacturing options while maintaining quality control.

Yes. We work with clients on private-label and co-branded manufacturing arrangements. The terms are negotiated as part of the program agreement.

Engineering changes in production are managed through a formal change control process that evaluates the impact on existing inventory, ongoing production, and previously shipped units before the change is implemented
